HUNTINGTON, W. Va.
- St. Mary's Medical Center made a donation of $5,000 to United Way of the River Cities on Wednesday as part of the upcoming National Doctors' Day on March 30 and a Physicians' Appreciation Week.
The donation was made on behalf of the doctors who work at the hospital. The money will go to the United Way's health and wellness initiatives.
"This is a great gift to honor physicians because the money will go directly to health and wellness programs to benefit the community," Dr. Tim Daly, St. Mary's ER physician and president of St. Mary's medical staff, said in for release.
The donation will be added to the total for the United Way's 2012 fundraising campaign.
"St. Mary's is a wonderful partner and we appreciate their work to ensure the health and well-being of individuals in the community," said Laura Gilliam, United Way executive director.
