May 7, 2007 National Hospital Week will be recognized across America the week of May 6-12. The Week is sponsored nationally by the American Hospital Association (AHA) and recognized locally by the West Virginia Hospital Association (WVHA).
   
February 19 , 2007 An estimated 200 hospital personnel from around the state including doctors, nurses, volunteers, and others representing the more than 39,000 employees of West Virginia's hospitals will be attending Hospital Day at the Legislature, Thursday, February 22, 2007.

October 13 , 2006 The West Virginia Hospital Political Action Committee (HOSPAC) has named its endorsements for the West Virginia Senate and the West Virginia House of Delegates in the upcoming general election Tuesday, November 7, 2006.
   
October 12, 2006 The West Virginia Hospital Association, representing the 73 acute care and specialty hospitals and health systems in West Virginia, recently elected new officers and appointed trustees for 2006-2007 at their 81st Annual Meeting held at The Greenbrier Resort, September 27-29, 2006.
   
September 12, 2006 The West Virginia Hospital Association (WVHA) has named Joseph M. Letnaunchyn as its new President and CEO. Don Muhlenthaler, Chairman of the WVHA Board of Trustees and CEO of Pocahontas Memorial Hospital, made the announcement today. Letnaunchyn is currently President and CEO of the Delaware Healthcare Association (DHA), and will begin as leader of WVHA in early November.

Jan 26, 2006 The Healthcare Education Foundation (HEF) of West Virginia has announced receipt of an award from the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation. The grant monies, which total $110,000, will be given to the West Virginia Hospital Association (WVHA) for the following patient safety, healthcare improvement projects:

March 14, 2005 The American Hospital Association (AHA) has just released a report that shows on a state-by-state basis the impact of community hospitals on the local and U.S. economy. The Economic Contribution of Hospitals, conducted by the Lewin Group, supports the West Virginia Hospital Association’s (WVHA) long-term stance on the importance of hospitals to their communities.
   

March 14, 2005 The West Virginia Hospital Association (WVHA) is pleased to announce the formation of the WVHA Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Network and the appointment of its first set of officers. The purpose of the 18-member Network is to promote a collaborative approach for improving patient care while optimizing shared resources.
